Our products and E-learning resources are designed specifically for the Wood Technology and Construction Studies courses.
Wood Theory & Practice was founded in August 2018 by Peter Cusack and Richard Foudy.
Peter and Richard are both qualified teachers of Wood Technology, Construction Studies and Design & Communication Graphics. Having qualified from GMIT Letterfrack, Peter and Richard have a combined fourteen years of teaching experience in both Ireland and England. Richard has extensive experience of working with the State Examinations Commission as an examiner.
Wood Technology Students: We offer the opportunity for students to take ownership of their own learning through engaging and structured activities. Our Theory & Practice books help each student grow their knowledge and skills of woodworking to new levels.
Construction Studies Students: We provide a series of 21 animated building section details designed to guide students through Leaving Certificate board drawing questions. Students have the opportunity to work at their own pace while maximising their time and learning.
Wood Technology Teachers: Our books and resources are designed to maximise student engagement, maximise class contact time and maximise the number of Learning Outcomes in each chapter. This approach allows teachers to bridge the gap between practical and theory-based lessons in a structured manner. All three books have proven to be the ideal resource for distance teaching and learning.
Construction Studies Teachers: All of our 21 building section details are designed to provide a coherent and up to date approach to teaching Leaving Certificate Construction Studies. These animated teaching resources allow teachers to focus on the teaching of each board drawing in a clear and accurate manner. Teachers can assign work to be completed by students at home using the same presentations from the classroom.
